Three space proof coins
These three proof coins are a must for any serious space enthusiast or numismatist. The first coin, minted in 1983 by the USSR Central Bank, commemorates the 20th anniversary of the flight of legendary cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space (June 1963). The second coin was struck by the USSR in 1987 to honor Konstantin Tsiolkovskiy, father of the Soviet space program. The third coin was minted in 1992 by the Russian Central Bank and honors the International Year of Space. The two Soviet-era coins, each one-ruble, bear the USSR crest, replete with hammer and sickle insignia and the Cyrillic letters CCCP on the reverse (pictured). The Russian coin, three rubles (how's that for inflation?), displays St. Basil's Cathedral and Russia's double-headed eagle on the reverse (not shown). Denominations engraved on rims of coins. Presented in a display folder with a certificate of authenticity. We don't have many to sell!
